The garage years.
My name is Daniel Isaac Kirkman. My initials spell something my very God-fearing mother doesn't want to hear, but they've spelled exactly what this brand turned into.
It started with my son's college baseball team. I bought a cheap hat press and started making hats in my garage. Nothing fancy. Just giving his guys something to rep.
The patches came later. Late nights with my friends, a couple drinks in, making three-to-five letter patches that were cheeky on purpose. The kind of stuff you didn't show your mom. The kind of stuff guys bought faster than we could make them.
Then people started asking if we could make them without the patches. Just the hats. With the velcro panel. So they could swap their own patches in. That's when the brand clicked.
"Keep it Covered" has a double meaning. My mom still doesn't get it. But the people who do — they're my people.
